Georgia vs Russia
SiD Wrote:I suppose Russia isnt most eacefull country but i doubt that every russian dreams about world conquest. To be world power and world domination are different things. Who needs to conquer world anyway? No one i suppose it is just the way to collect all existing problems.

indeed, we can see that Russia has problems in maintaining its own territories within its borders, let alone conquering other countries. It's impossible that such a big territory has people with the same concepts in the east and west, north and south.

Georgians Leaders will receive a "severe punishment" for last year's conflict with Russia, said Dmitri Medvedev. One year after the war, the leader of the Kremlin claims that Russia will not review the decision to recognize independence of South Osetiei and Abhaziei.
Sakalsvili even the ground you will not get you for what you did!!!

This decision cant be reviewed. No one jokes with such things. I am surprised that anyone can hope that Medvedev would just say "alright i changed my mind".

I don't think the decision will be reviewed.... who is Russia and who is Gerogia? Not to compare with... you see if the biggest country in the world change it's opinion is loosing his proude, his status in front of overs...and Georgia dosen't worth it..

And how about people of South Osetia and Abkchazia? After all thier strugle for independance, that begun not yesterday and not year ago you know, Russia should just abandon them? After all blood that was shed Russia should betray them in such a way? Betray its own citizens by pretending that nothing happened and everything is fine? That it was no agression? Sizes have nothing to do with that. And what thing you think is worth of such thing?

No, should not be abandoned. But look what is the situation. Russia's territory consists of several former conquered countries and nationalized under a flag. If Russia will offer independence and then some others will ask, and they understand that very well that's why do nothing.

And why after Kosovo Abkchazia and South Osetia couldnt have thier independance? The answer from EU diplomats would be something like "it is another case, Kosovo is special exeption, it is not precident and bla bla bla". So Russia made SPECIAL exeption for two new countries, thats it. Double standarts are not exclusievly EU and US thing.
