Education trends - Benn - 05-12-2008

What will our grandchildren study at schools, or generally, will school exist in 10-30 years?

Re: Education trends - Babuin - 05-14-2008

Why schools will chase to exist in 10-30 years?

Re: Education trends - Terry - 05-29-2008

what I think will happen is that schools will disappear and technology will replace real teachers by computerized teachers, so that children can learn from home

Re: Education trends - Steven - 06-07-2008

World universtities already begin to practice home lessons with the students. It's very convinient, you can you the time efficiently

Re: Education trends - Faw_Peter - 06-12-2008

A normal contact between teachers and children can never be replaced by technology. Yes, technology is good, but for example, it can't make jokes during the lessons... Children have to study in normal circumstances

Re: Education trends - clearman - 06-14-2008

I know that in the past education system was very complex. The children gained a sort of Encyclopedia knowledges. It's better for them to learn like robots? I don't know.
Today they are learning only to use the computers. :oO

Re: Education trends - Benn - 06-14-2008

Maybe the future generation will not need to have a big luggage of knowledge if they are conquered by technology. A system similar to the one usedin the movie "Matrix" might be invented. You only plug a device to your head, and the computer pushes any information to your head.

Re: Education trends - Faw_Peter - 06-20-2008

that would change people totally to other direction - they will know everything they want, and generally it won't be interesting to live, so I hope that doesn't happen!

Re: Education trends - Terry - 06-21-2008

why not, if we know everything we can progress with the light speed. That's great1 We will spread very quickly on other planets.

Re: Education trends - LION - 06-21-2008

I hope that fantasies like Matrix won't happen and our children will go to school, not sit home with wires conected to their heads.School is not only a place where we come to study,it's a place where we interact with other people, learn things that a computer cannot show to us.
I am sure that in the future computers will replace traditional books and maybe some teachers, but still,i hope that most of the teachers will be humans Smile

Re: Education trends - Benn - 06-23-2008

you can hope as much as you want, but this is inevitable. Just think about it - normal school not only teaches students to be intelligent. Some students receive an opposite of what they should learn, i.e. learn the filthy language and many other stupid things. The future could change that

Re: Education trends - Faw_Peter - 06-24-2008

anyway, being more realistic, I would propose that every child in the school should purchase (or at least receive from the school in case his parents can't afford) a laptop for writing summaries, analyzes etc. It will make their education life easier.

Re: Education trends - Terry - 06-25-2008

I agree, but, schools will never offer that for free, unless the government sets a certain tax for that.

Re: Education trends - sasha - 06-26-2008

If whole process of education is automatized, it surly would bring lots of reasonable savings. The only thing that can and would stop this from spreading is that there is much money involved in education. A lot of people depends of this, there are much privilegues involved, and finnaly and the most important is that education systems are great for "governmental mental programming" of citizents ;-)

Every country sistem have some important stuff implemented in the education system, so the result of this system (educated people) could be slitely changed toward public interest of a time. On the other hand this can be better provided and controled by using automatic educators, so it is the motive which could prevail. :livre

Re: Education trends - Andrewz - 06-26-2008

and what exactly is that stuff you're talking about? What does a country have something specific, which distinguishes it from other?

Re: Education trends - sasha - 06-30-2008

I think it can be described as brainwashing of young. Many countries use their education system to implement an idea to future generations. It could be a good idea, like preventing desease or positive attitude toward nature. But it could (and sometimes is) also misused for political, rasism or nationalistic agitation and marketing (like in Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Kosovo etc).

Re: Education trends - LION - 07-01-2008

Sasha,so you think that automatization of education will prevent the brainwashing?
it will always exist,in one form or another ;-)

Re: Education trends - Benn - 07-01-2008

sure, it will exist. I agree each country has its own features in teaching. Unfortunately the children are conquered by rhese manipulations.

Re: Education trends - M.Helen - 07-03-2008

It's dangerous to make a child believe his country is the best, it's dangerous 'cause he might become a nationalist. Those who write history books should take care of that.

LION Wrote:Sasha,so you think that automatization of education will prevent the brainwashing?

No, I think that is will make it easier, because mashines could be completly controled.

Re: Education trends - Benn - 07-06-2008

...controlled by whom? By the government of course. So what will change? Nothing

Re: Education trends - Steven - 07-12-2008

anything happens, we should not allow our children become robots. They must be taught to think and act freely, without pressure. We can only suggest them something, but not force, and the government is not an exception.

Re: Education trends - Terry - 07-20-2008

yes, but unfortunately you can't influence the government's policy in the education sector. You are only a drop in the sea.

Re: Education trends - M.Helen - 07-27-2008

Children, who realize at young age they were f....ed over by the Government, will make everything possible that their children are not frauded this way.

M.Helen Wrote:Children, who realize at young age they were f....ed over by the Government, will make everything possible that their children are not frauded this way.
and those who don't realize that, will teach their children in the same way. Thereby generations have different conepts about life. But there is only one truth, not several...
