Travel Insurance

Travel insurance

Postby Andrewz » 08 Jun 2008, 22:39

Most of us when going abroad don't use to make an insurance. We often keep money for drinking another cocktail on the beach. But in my opinion, insurance is important both - when travelling and at home. Just imagine something happens to you - like injure your arm etc. it will cost a lot to treat it. But, if you have a medical insurance you will not have to spend time and money when travelling if you have problems with your health

People simply think optimistic "ah, nothing will happen". They try to be careful and one of the reason they think it won't happen is because it's hardly possible, and if the money for insurance is spent in vain one time, the second time the insurance will not be bought, that's for sure

once when I was in Greece I went to take a swim into the sea. Everything was great until I stepped a crab. It bit me really hard and my leg was bleeding. I had no bandage to tie so I went to the hospital. I paid 60 euros, only for making a check and bandage my leg. So insurance is important, believe me!

What should your travel insurance include:

* medical and health cover for an injury or sudden illness abroad – more infomation on medical and health cover page
* 24 hour emergency service and assistance
* personal liability cover in case you’re sued for causing injury or damaging property
* lost and stolen possessions cover
* cancellation and curtailment (cutting short your trip) cover
* extra cover for activities that are commonly excluded from standard policies, such as jet skiing.

travel insurance is ten times more important than simple inland medical insurance. When you are home, in your country you can be supported by your relatives and friends in case something happens, but, being abroad nobody can help you but the insurance!

there are different travel insurances. Even if you take one when you leave traveling, make sure it includes many medical services, 'cause you might simply be fooled by tourism agencies.

insurance is a risk. It's stupid, but sometimes people say "Ahh, why did I bought the insurance? I didn't use it anyway". But they should be happy about the fact they didn't use it. It's their health, that's why it's called "insurance"

yes, I know that feeling. It's a feeling of spending money in vain. You see, the point is that we want to feel a concrete effect from each invested money, and if we don't, we begin to complain about that.

Travel insurance is becoming a more and more important part of the traveling. It must include a lot of aspects, not only health. People who go to areas where war or conflicts are possible must get insured over this.

It's easier to avoid going to such countries. For example Iraq is not a place to rest in. No insurance can help you there.

Some countries can simply reject the application for visa if you don't have travel insurance, that's why be careful people.

In the recent times, travel insurances are a standard procedure when you book your hotel with a travel agency.

You should definitely insure your luggage. This has become popular especially over the last decade, when people began to lose more and more their luggage, despite the airport's efforts to avoid this.

Indeed it would be good for people to make these insurance but as we know nobody goes to travel and something bad to happening with them. Probably is something like superstitions, you prepare for something bad and happens.

I don't think there is anything like superstition while traveling. And going for Travel insurance there is nothing wrong. Everyone should take care of their belongings and should be always prepared for the worst.

When you are on a trip that too to other country you need some sort of security and that can be only provided by Travel insurance. Atleast it will give you a piece of mind which is very important when you are traveling with your family and friends.

Insurance is really important as many people think that if they have taken medical insurance then there is no use of going for Backpacker Insurance as there health is covered. But only covering health is not everything what if your flight gets delay or canceled.
Its better to go for travel insurance as it would cover you for health too.
Why to spend more when you can get more in less..... ;-)

Thank you for sharing.Insurance is all about risk. The greater the risk of an illness, accident, loss or another event occurring, the higher the premium you will be expected to pay for cover. If the Insurance Company decides that the chances of an incident occurring are extremely high, it is not obliged to insure you.

Traveling would be quite boring if there is no adventure attached to it. So, its always nice to get yourself insured so that you can enjoy your traveling to fullest and with all adventure.
And yes, if insurance company is taking care of your life and health then it would definitely cost little high. :ange
