Here in my country it is believe that Friday the 13th is bad luck. Therefore during friday the 13th people are very cautious.

Another thing is if you meet a black cat and you are going somewhere you should not go on that place and must return home to avoid the bad luck.

Britain:
Lucky to find a clover plant with four leaves.
Putting money in the pocket of new clothes brings good luck.
Unlucky to put new shoes on the table.

One common superstition among both Americans and Mexicans is the belief that making a wish, or three wishes, on a falling star will make the wishes come true. Other superstitions warn against counting stars because doing so will cause your eyes to look like those of a fish.

The moon also plays a major role in many superstitions. A well-known superstition says that a pregnant woman shouldn't touch her belly during a lunar eclipse. Doing so will cause the baby to be born with quite a noticeable birthmark.

In Spain, people are really religious. For this reason, the common superstitions are connected with the Catholic religion. Here are some superstitions related to marriage.
If a groom's friend cuts a piece of the groom's tie, he'll get married soon.
If the bride wears something blue, she'll have a happy marriage.
If the groom sees the bride's dress, she'll have bad luck during the ceremony

Egypt has been known for placing the cat on a high pedestal. These finicky felines were given special privileges. A cat, as well as the head of a cat represented an important goddess during ancient Egypt. Cat that lived within the temples were adorned with expensive collars displaying grand jewels and were respected as if they were royalty.

Russia again
If you say the same word together with someone else, you should touch something black first and then you can make a wish.
If you are sitting against the corner of the dinner table you won't marry for 7 years (only for girls ;)).
When a person dies they cover mirrors with cloth, as the dead can reflect in the mirror.
If you step on somebody's foot, ask them to step on yours otherwise you are going to quarrel.
It's bad luck to count moles on your body.
Wow.. there are a lot more than these..

Am I right, that in Britain when a person sneezes, you say 'Bless you', and they must clap their hands while saying 'Thank you' back? A girl did that once and it was funny. )

Thank you for sharing. As far as Chinese superstitions is concerned , there are certain customs and superstitions that many Chinese adhere to during the New Year. Shooting off firecrackers on Chinese New Year's Eve is the Chinese way of sending out the old year and welcoming in the new. On the stroke of midnight, every door and window in the house has to be opened to allow the old year to go out is one of the Chinese superstition they adhere to. Many people also abstain from eating meat on the first day of Chinese New Year because it is believed that this will ensure a long and happy life.
