Hi there! I think it will be much, much better if users could see each other’s country of residence.
Because, in the end, it's an EU forum and this feature would switch on an interactive key for the community.

Well, when you see for instance somebody from Amsterdam, you're like: "oh, Heloo there! I've been to Amsterdam how's weather there" or anything else.
Anyway to me this seems to be more interesting.

I am attracted more to chat to a person whom I don't know. He will tell you where he's from when time comes.
