The most efficient indoor exercise is walking upstairs in a skyscraper.

Jogging indoors on a running machine is a very boring exercise.
Unless it is a scorching heat outdoors, I'd prefer an open air.

Dima, I'm using a running machine at home, I should contradict you, for it definitely is not boring. While running, I use to watch TV or read a book, I listen to music - it's not quite comfy to do it outdoors.
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Have you tried running on wii fit? It's really cute :haha

I think running outdoors is a bit better, especially if you run on grass, because it seems a bit more difficult. It's also good to get some sunlight and fresh air! You must be careful running on tarmac - I hurt my knees doing this, and was advised to buy expensive road-running trainers :fi A running machine gives a more comprehensive workout, though - and you cannot have a quick rest or go to buy chocolate

Certainly running outdoor is best. The body requires not only gradual and constructive physical load. It wants fresh air so that the lungs and skin breathe correctly and take the necessary quantity of oxygen.

I'm also an ally of open-air running. Running machine is for children, since it's very easy to do, in my view. I like passing through lots of barriers on my way. uplands then descent, it's all part of running, while a running machines gives no barriers.

I preferred the outdoor exercise, as I not only can relax my mind, but I also have the chance to communicate with other people during jogging! :)

I believe jogging in open air is healthier. The reason is that it's is more interesting to run outdoors, you see different people, listen to the birds' songs, breath fresh air. Also you can run together with one of your friends(that's I am actually doing), to discuss the latest news, etc.
