Cluj is a weak Romanian team. That is an unexpected result indeed.

However, Roma isn't doing well in the Serie A though. After the first two games only one point:

Roma 1-1 Napoli
Palermo 3-1 Roma

I wonder what place is Cluj in Romania's League now? Are they in the top part of the table?

Last year Cluj was on the first place in Romania (76 points), followed by Steaua. Now it is on the 11th place with 12 points. But a lot of time remains to improve results.

Zenit has completely disappointed me! :banghead

Group H after 3 rounds:

Juventus 7
Real Madrid 6
BATE 2
Zenit St Petersburg 1

They won't get even in the UEFA cup! In the Russian Premier League, being #5 now, they are struggling to get a spot for next year's UEFA cup. Probably, they should have sold Arshavin for 30-50 millions and bought some new fresh players.

Dima, there are still chances for you. Zenit has little, but still, has chances to gain points. On October 21 they played 1:1 with Bate, that's bad...
BTW, did you expect the result of 3:5 between Steaua and Lyon?

No way! Yes, theoretically they can get up to 9 remaining points, but that is extremely improbable.
The most they can hope for now, in my opinion, is the third place and switching to the UEFA cup.

Steaua 3-5 Lyon is a bit surprising! But Lyon is a more serious team than Bate. Also notice how Lyon had played before that game:

Steaua 0-1 Bayern Munich
Lyon 2-2 Fiorentina

Bayern 1-1 Lyon
Fiorentina 0-0 Steaua

Lyon tied in Munich, while Steaua lost to Bayern at home!

I heard Steaua's owner - Becali (a local Romanian billionaire) raised the question about replacing the coach. He said "No good coach would afford to lose the match after leading 2:0".

My predictions for winners:

Champions League --- Liverpool

UEFA Cup ------------- Milan or CSKA (Moscow)

The result, Barcelona 2-3 Shakhter, is incredible!

Have you heard that Real Madrid wants to buy Arshavin from Zenit St. Petersbug?

Chelsea FC (ENG) v Juventus (ITA) -- is one of the hardest to predict. I think Juventus will win.
Good luck Juve!

Guus Hiddink has become Chelsea's new manager.

I am sure this wizzard will be able to make Chelsea win the Campions League!

Guus Hiddink will train the English team until summer. It will be difficult for him to permanently travel between London and Moscow. I suppose Abramovich forwarded this proposal after Russia's success in Euro 2008.

After hiring Guus, Chelsea is now hunting after Russia's best player Yurii Zhirkov. This player is als headhunted by Juventus and Roma. But, it's most likely that Chelsea will get him, since Abramovich's financial power is almost unlimited.

Not only Zhirkov!

Guus has recommended to Abramovich to buy both Zhirkov and Dzagoev. The latter is the young star (not yet 21 years old) who already plays for the Russian national team!

I wonder what amounts will Abromovich offer for them...?

Considering Arshavin was bought for 22 million dollars, Zhirkov probably values above this amount. Really big expenses for the club.

Chelsea today is playing a game against Aston Villa. Aston Villa is now the third in the country's ranking. Guus Hidink said it is going to be a tough game. Can't wait to see the outcome.

Congratulations to Chelsea, it has won the game against Aston Villa 1:0.
This proved once again that Hidink is a lucky coach. Players must now open their pockets for Abramovich to put some things in them.
