Some impacts:
-The cure of diseases has been brought about by the study of biology - interdisciplinary fields of biology and chemistry bringing about the synthesis of drugs to combat or alleviate the conditions of eg. tuberculosis, cancer, AIDS, heart disease, diabetes.
-The study of the human body has led to a greater understanding of the various functions, organs, tissues, etc. This has revolutionised sports medicine, general medicine, surgery, psychiatry, different specialised fields of medicine, cosmetic surgery etc.
-The study of pigs, rats etc has led to testing of these animals for responses to drugs. The successful drugs can then be tested on humans and newer drugs can be introduced on the market.
-Pharmacy cannot exist without biology
-The study of flights of birds has led to advances in physics with the invention of airplanes. Nanomaterials and bio-membranes are possible with the collaboration of the broad categories or giants of science - physcis, chemistry and biology.
-Bioethics, Cloning, biotechnology, DNA identification are some of the hottest fields in life science.
-Viruses and bacteria studies have led to invention of antiviral and antibiotics medications.
These are just samples of what biology has impacted human beings.
