I go to college and I am choosing my classes for next semester, I was wondering what the difference was between them. Is general biology harder than introductory biology?

Introductory is easier then general it is a stepping stone like for instance you did not take biology in high school you would need to take intro bio to take the harder and more advanced general biology.

You only need general biology if your trying to do pre-med or if it is required in your major.
Non health programs only needes intro ask your advisor which one you need before you put your time in taking that class.

both would more than likely cover the same topics, just one would be slightly more in depth than the other (i.e. one would be for majors, the other for nonmajors). the only way to know for sure which one is which would to read the course description or email the professors of those classes and ask is this a class for majors or nonmajors, what's the difference between this class and that class.

This wouldn't be the same at all schools (and most schools wouldn't offer both, since the names could be confusing). You need to look at your school's bulletin, which lists what is covered in each course and the prerequisites for each. It is likely that one is for science majors and the other for non-majors, but just by the names, it is hard to know which is which.
