Dutch researchers want to produce electricity from... salt!!!!
Specifically, the spring water and the salt. They are confident that the port of Rotterdam could, soon, provide energy. They have already created a simulator and said that the two types of ions, which creates an electrical current in certain cases, will offer in a few years, green energy. A cubic meter of fresh water would result in a megawatt of electricity per second. The only challenge now, is to test the Dutch system in Rotterdam port waters.
