How Often Do You Lose Motivation While Trying To Achieve A Goal?

How often do you lose motivation while trying to achieve a goal?

Postby Maisie » 27 Jan 2011, 18:39

I am just curious because i feel like i lose motivation more than i dont lose motivation while trying to accomplish something like losing weight or something. Just trying to see if there is a character flaw or somethign else wrong with me.

1. don't let the second thought come in. its often the wicked second thought that makes us loose the motivation.
2. don't look for results just do your job and keep doing it

If I have to consciously set a goal, I'm probably not that motivated to do whatever it is in the first place. I think part of the problem - for me, at least - is that I've been turned off the the whole concept of making goals by all the goal-setting activities I had to do in school.

Depends on the goal. Do you make the goals "do-able", or pretty much out of reach? Try setting the goal a little closer to "do-able", then strive for more. Common sense, really. If you want to lose 50 lbs, maybe shoot for 30. If that works, raise the goal.(If it's 5 lbs- try 3 lbs). Good Luck...

you need to keep ur spirit up all the time, when you start something new, it's very attractive in the begeining, to keep it on, sometime you have to do other things to keep you high all the time. As an example when you take music calss, it might facinate you in the beginin but when it come to routin practise, you might lose interest, that's the time you need to do something else that keeps you high, perhaps sports or whatever you enjoy doing. This is of course for when you dont reach to the point that this thing you're doing does not suit you.

In short, try to expereince the joyful moments, it keeps you high and motivated almost all the time.

You need to exercise a bit or you will get puffed no matter what you do because you are unfit. Losing weight fast, I would suggest a closely watched diet (probably by a nutritionist if you have breathing problems as you will have to watch your diet for life). Pepsi still contains calories, even diet pepsi (the calories are hidden due to conversions with artificial sugars in the body). Switch to water. It may not be fizzy but it really is so much healthier and can't be beat.
