How much memory does World of Warcraft take up on your hard drive? - Imrazor - 01-27-2011

I am considering buying World of Warcraft next year (World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade) and I am wondering if anyone knows how much memory it will take up.

Thanks

~ Rossi

The games are on offer with it being close to Christmas - Only £4 each Tongue £8 for the two you want. Not sure how much memory ias needed, I think it's 1.5GHz for Burning Crusade and... No idea on WoW, sorry xD

My current WoW folder, which includes the patches up to the latest Patch 4.0.3a, clocks in at 27.7GB. If you're planning to get the Cataclysm expansion, you'll need even more hard drive space.

You should have at least 40 GB to be safe.

He's right, its 16GB and it fluctuates depending on the patch download cycle. You should have about 25GB available for WoW. It is a huge game. This is direct from Blizzard.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter which expansion pack you own because you still need to have the entire WoW content on your PC even just to play the original game.

The reason is that a lot of the other players will be using items from Cataclysm and those items need to be rendered on your PC when you see those players in cities etc. Even though you may never see the inside of a Cataclyms raid zone for some reason it still needs to be downloaded to your PC.

Hi

You will need 40 G to Run World of Warcraft if you don't have the room on your hard drive then you will need to buy an additional one, if this is the case then i would just buy a 1T hard drive this way you will almost never run out of space. And it will only set you back about $100 AUS Dollar and even less if your in the US.

Also If you Need world of warcraft guides then visit the site below, as a new player you might need a couple just to get use to the game.
