Why Google Adwords Does Not work in Opera - Greg - 09-23-2009

Anyone knows why Google adwords doesn't work in Opera?
It was an unpleasant discovery for me.
Here is what I got:
Quote:Sorry, the new AdWords interface does not work with Opera. We recommend using Firefox 3, Internet Explorer 8, Safari or Chrome to manage your AdWords campaigns.

Unfortunately from all of these browsers only Firefox is natively available for Linux.
I even tried Konqueror which didn't provide any errors it just didn't work.

Still the question is why Opera which is known to follow strictly all the W3 standards, and is famous for it's excellent Opera Mobile Browser does not support the google adwords? Is there a technical reason for this? Or google just wants to take down a competitor?

I tend to think that this is the answer to you question...even in internet exist such a term "competition" and Google has his browser Google Chrome...

Opera is one of the very good browser. But I'm using Firefox because if it's Adds On. I'm just sorry that the new AdWords interface doesn't work with Opera. Try using Firefox 3.01, Internet Explorer 8, or Chrome to manage your AdWords campaigns."

Anyone who has developed websites has probably noticed that it’s not very difficult to make your website work on Opera. When I make a website I always start with making it work in Firefox, when it works in Firefox I work on the compatibility issues with other browsers. Making it work with IE (especially IE6) can be hell, while making it work with Opera barely takes any work at all. For a company that specializes in web solutions, Google really should have this working. If they don’t have their paid services ALL working, it’s absolute bullshit.
