New rules for airlines - M.Helen - 11-15-2008

On November 1, 2008, the European Union has introduced new measures for protecting the customers of the European airlines.
People who travel a lot know it very well that airlines companies offer very cheap prices for tickets if they are bought via internet. But, when it comes to the deal, they add lots of other costs, such as insurance (travel, luggage), meals, VAT, etc.
Now, the European Union Parliament have obliged the airlines to state the final prices when making ticket offers. The customer can not anymore be fulled by airlines, since he can see the real price and not the virtual one.

this year is expected not to be too fructuous for airlines. Many airlines already declared to have big losses because of the financial crisis. And now this regulation forwarded in EU will struggle them even harder.

Airline companies have smaller profit because of less passengers travelling by air. Many companies cut their personnel, who probably used to have business trips. Now, most of the permanent clients are gone. Airlines have to draft new plans and budget for this year.

Regardless of the profit, any business must be based on clients needs, and first of all - on their respect. Fooling clients means fooling people, so the introduced law was a good idea.
