Well Karl they were not scared to commit mass killing but they are scared by our planes, arent they? Do you thing that all thier military forces and infrostructure is in S Osetia? Our peacekeeping forces were and are under fire, so they defend themselves. No weapon is perfect and parhaps some civilian bildings could be hit. That is tragedy of course and no one denies this.
By the way Georgian military destroyed hospital of Tschinvali.
Do you know that Russia tried to persuede Georgia to sign treaty of non aggression with South Osetia and Abchazia, but they were telling that they will never attack thier own territory!
In the night when Georgia invaded South Osetia Russia called emergency meating of UN security council to stop Georgian Invasion but could not do it becouse Georgia was backed by other states. And it was done while civilians and our Peacekeepers were fighting for thier lives against superior Georgian forces! That is why Army is ther. Now we are called aggressors! The same people who started massive bombardment of civilians are now crying for help! And worst part that they have it. They want condamn us for defending lives of inhabbitans of S Osetia and our peacekeepers! They tell they are asking for peace but continue thier attacks against our forces and knowing this lier Saakashvili i am not surprised!

Well. I am personally disgusted by Putin and by most of what's going on here in Russia. But Western cynicism strikes me even more. Half of Georgian budget consists of loans from the US. The country practically lives on American money. Buys not only food and clothing, but weapons, jets &c. from the US. Is this country free? No. Georgia has made an acquisition. It has bought an ideology. But the comfort of using it is coming to an end.
Like some people here, I am thinking of Nino Burjanidze. She is consulting now with the Bush administration. Saakashvili will probably commit suicide in the nearest future. He is crazy enough to further prevent the ceasefire, and Russians will not stop. Which means that Georgians may loose everything.

How can it be right that your troops invaded half of Georgia, killed thousands of civilians, killed BBC reporters and almost killed the French Prime Minister and REFUSED to sign the peace treaty offered by EU??? Well, first, you'd better think if your disappointment and spluttering means anything at all at the moment to anybody. That's what they call "disproportionate answer", I guess. Obviously, we have different sense of proportions.
Me, I personally don't like Putin. Surely, he's an animal. And surely it'd be better if Russia disappear some day. But, looking at the present state of affairs, if I were you, I would not talk of killing of civilians only by the Russian army. This isn't true. And I would not talk about Russians in general. Anger is a sure sign of the fact that you are scared and weak.

Well, that's a highly questionable statement, given the circumstances. Obviously (at least, I hope so), Russian army is not going to take over Tbilisi. Although Saakashvili himself gave a good handle to this possibility.

Putin is another Hitler and Russia is acting like Germany as Germany took Chekoslovakia with the same pretex (defense of their citizens) i guess 22 million deaths did not gave the Russian a lesson in history.
We should have taken on Russia at the end of WWII as Gen Patton sugested, friend with the germans and turn the guns east, we would not have all the problems of the last 50 years. Europe should send peace keeping forces to Georgia inmediatly, but they do not have the guts to do it, because they will jeopardize gas and oil as the became so dependent on this Russian shipments, we could send peace keepers, but i do think Europe should take on this one, it is time that the europeans take care of themselves.
And if they don't do it then we should, it is the right thing to do.
To all of you Russian writting here there is a hughe population of your people livin in my state Florida, when is Puting going to send the Russian Army, they will be gladly deal with, and not with candy, we do not like wars, but no one will come to my country telling us that is for the defense of their people.
To all of you proud Russians, we will fight you anywhere, see your hardware is old and decrepid, a war for a year cost a lot of money, witch you are getting from the west, be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.

I cannot undrstand why the "old" democracies behave like they do? Georgia started the war against Ossetia breaking the treatys, it broke its own word, Georgian troops attacked and killed "blue helmets" (peacemakers) that were there according to INTERNATIONAL treaty, Georgia destroys the Ossetian cities and villages, Georgian troops kill Ossetian peaceful people with knife cutting their throats, they override them by tanks, they set them on fire alive in the houses, they kidnapp young Ossetian women, and the Europe says it is all OK? The video of burning houses that BBC and CNN are showing to you are not the video of Georgian houses - that are OSSETIAN houses thet were set on fire by GEORGIAN TROOPS!!!!! Your news agencies lie to you!!!!

I ask myself: is this guy normal? Your rhetoric does not sound Western at all. There are a lot of Georgians here in Russia and no one would even think to do harm to them only because they are Georgians. Well, there are imbeciles in every country, you know. Even, as I see it clearly, in the US.
I do not approve what Putin is doing. He's a dirty pig. But I understand reasons why he is doing it. Besides, 5 years ago I was in Belgrade and visited Kosovo. I talked to people and was terrified. I wonder what I would think if I visited Iraq.

You are mistaken this conflict has nothing to do with it. The Georgian and Ossetian are enemy peole long ago... It started before 1920... Georgia three times tried to genocide Ossetian people in the XX century. They want to get Ossetian land, and they do not want Ossetians live there. "Georgia is for Georgians!!!" - that is their slogan. Some Ossetians changed their names and surnames in a Georgian way - in order to live better. Frankly speaking - for the last several years Georgian peole underwent a severe fascist propaganda.. They believe tha they are the most powerful army in the Caucasus (and if we forget about Russia, they really are) and they tried to behave like USA... Bombing houses of other peole at their wii and believing that nobody can do anything with that...They started the war when the Russian president was on vacation, and prime-minister was out on the Olympic games. They thought - it would help. And then YOUR the so called "free" mass media started saying the LIE about tht it was Russia that attacked Georgia... Did you know that:
1. It was Georgia that started the war and killed peacemakers ?
2. Russia fist asked UNO to stop Georgia?
3. Georgian army had the task to kill every Ossetian or make Ossetian run away from Ossetia?
4. That only TWO days after the significant Russian troops entered South Ossetia?
5. That Georgian president constatly lies to journalists ? (he says "We stopped fire and want peace" and in fact Georgian army did not do it!!! They continue to fire even NOW!!! But reporters in Tbilisi without checking information give his word to mass translation..And the world believe that Georgian stopped firing because their president told so!!! Not at all!!!)
6. BBC and CNN are broadcasting LIE!!! They show you the OSSETIAN burning houses and say they are Georgian...
7. There are a lot of american citizen among captured or killed georgian troops. It is very easy to tell who is Georgian and who is Afro-American.
There is no democracy in Georgia. Have you ever think why nearly all his political opponents were killed by someone and investigation gave nothing? USA calls Georgia - a democratic state only because it is rulled by a person who obbey USA in everything. I think that the moment fo starting the war was chosen by USA. USA has the following profits:
1. The war in Ossetia gave some movement up to USD in Forex
2. They have a possibility to test Russia readyness to involve its troops to "Force resolving"
3. They have a possibility to compare ammunition and tactics of NATO (Georgia was equipped on NATO style and was trained for several years by NATO instructors) and Russia in combat
4. The fact that Russia "goes on war" gives additional points to McCain who is known anti-Russian politician and says he will have anti-Russian policy and "teach Russia to behave" if he is elected.
I think that Saakashvili and his people were sucrifised to that tasks. But never the less Saakashvili - is a murderer and fascist.. He understands everything he does...
