Why do personalities and politics delay and destabilize all big projects, rather than assisting ?

Isn't it really that personalities and politics greatly unsuited to a big project would delay and destabilize, as opposed to assisting ?

There "must" be personalities and politics which greatly assists big projects.
Forgive typo.

There "must" be personalities and politics which greatly assist big projects.

Nowadays personalities and politic are working only for their own interests, what happens with people and with the planet in the long term has not interest for them.
Big projects have long term objectives.
Mature personalities: direct their lives toward transcend objectives
Immature personalities: direct their lives to immediate objectives and can not experience transcend impulses, emotions and feelings.
Half of the population is immature and they are in the power.

For most people, it's about putting their territorial mark on something, so they can look bigger than the idea that they have been granted some authority in.
