What Do You Hate Most About Politics And Politicians?

What do you hate most about politics and politicians?

Postby MaryTMartin » 27 Jan 2011, 03:43

What really buggs you about politics and politicians? What would you want to see changed and (if you can answer) how would you go about changing it?

The corruption and lies. There's never any accountability or reason.

partisanship, and no offense but its stronger with the republicans, because they refused Obamas bipartisan requests.

The fact that they have a very important job to do but waste most of their time trying to stab each other in the back. We have no real leaders, just a bunch of politicians.

Hypocrisy, lies and selling us out to corporate greed. We can change it by taking the cash out of politics. We need full public funding of elections.

I hate the fact that all politicians are bought and paid for by the same corporations, yet people act like a certain party is their "friend".

The bi-partisan effort has succesfully instituted private interest groups which has served to misapply law. That effort has successfully corrupted the Judicial system, as well. Between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches, the USA no longer enforces American law under the Constitution.

That non-Americans run the country.

Their dis-honesty - they say much before the election but do little after they are elected.
We are building a 'better' politician in Scotland in time for our Independence next year.
Many of our SNP ones in the Scottish Parliament just now are extremely honest and people of high integrity as many are good Christians.

What bothers me the most is.... "Vote YES if you don't want it and vote NO if you do want it."

lies and deception. Personally I would regard it as treason and put a ten year prison sentence on it. This is the 21st century. We should not tolerate lies and deception from those that we pay to look after our interests. Its time that it was stopped. We must have the most foul corrupt parasite parliament in Europe. There are more criminals in parliament than there are in our prisons. Its becoming a major embarrassment.

The lies. No politician is in it to help people, why would they be, they're just in it for the big pay packet and to get in to some elite masonic club. where they can basically rob the poor and give to the rich. I hate politics and politicians.

They cannot be held accountable for going back on promises. They can basically lie to win an election.

They lie and circle the waggons around the miscreants, corrupting the process that is supposed to serve the people. Democracy is no longer transparent and political arrogance trumps truth and justice.

The problem is that in a democracy the politicians are limited to looking to the next election, this means that they do what they think will get them elected, not just what needs to be done.

There is also an issue with the press who target politicians if they change their minds, surely it is better to have a politician who admits he is wrong than who sticks to his first comment through fear of being labelled a u-turn
