Good news - first postwar Russia-Georgia diplomatic relation

Postby Benn » 15 Oct 2008, 21:30

The talks, carried out under UNO, EU and OSCE supervision, aimed to reach stability and security in Caucasus.
As it was believed earlier, the international discussions on security ensuring in Abkhazia and Southe Osetia will be conducted basing on the Medvedev-Sarkozy plan.
US representatives are also expected along with representatives from Abkhazia and South Osetia, in spite of severe misunderstandings with Tbilisi.
Earlier, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov declared that Russia is ready to participate in international discussions only if the two separatist states are allowed as well.

Now the talks are suspended to the month of November. It's really bad that the first attempt failed. This may cost the world many other headaches and still no feeling of security, which people are expecting it so much.
