To attain higher states of self, one has to put effort. ‘He indeed truly prospers who purifies it (the self).’ (Holy Quran, 91:10).

i= When modes of life are not guided by reason, control and understanding, the unguided self acts raw. it is Raw-state of the self. (12:54)

ii= When, a person controls and regulates his or her manners of life properly, it becomes Moral-State. Still it is not perfect. Many a times, the person stumbles but shows remorse.(75:3)

iii= Thirdly, when a person cleanses all of his or her weakness of self, they achieve the Spiritual-State. It is soul-at-rest or soul-at-peace-with-God stage, according to Holy Quran. (89: 28-31). At this stage, spiritual powers are gained and person becomes true and beloved servant of God and pays His dues and becomes a totally peaceful person on earth. Such a faithful becomes recipient of divine blessings. When divine reformer comes, many such noble characters are raised under divine light.
