It was in 1970s, if I'm not mistaken, when series of Earth photo shoots were done by the Soviet satellite going round the Venus orbit (or it was a robot on the surface of this planet). It turned out to be quite difficult to see (on the photos) any difference between traces made by the natural processes and the ones made by the human civilization. A year ago, if I'm not mistaken, a similar experiment was conducted. The result of the experiment was the same.
To expect the off-World "civilization" will appear to be much more developed than the ours is erroneous. It is better to speak about "a form of life". And the absense of any official Contact is yet not a reason to renounce an idea (or faith, probably), that we're not alone in the Universe.
Even if to take into account that the Universe has the limits, its known sizes and the theory of probability give us a right to assert that we are not alone.
Generally speaking, we all need to pray that we'll appear not to be solitary in this enormous and mainly empty space.

No need for more science to study the few planets that are part of the solar system ... are 9 planets Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Pluto and no more. The first 4 are the interior and the others are exterior.
Those million that you mentioned are the stars as they are called by people, that have nothing in common with the planets.

Billiones - are stars,but planets are 9 and none have the necessary conditions to support life on them. So we don't have so many choices. Better said none.

I saw a report recently about aliens in which say that they live not in space, how we suppose but in a world parallel to ours, a world that we are not able to see and to distingiush.
