The Art Of Making Complements

The art of making complements

Postby Steven » 20 Nov 2008, 21:27

The main step towards a close contact with a girl, is certainly the ability of making a good complement. If it's done correctly, you can achieve many things.

Women's weakness for complements is explained by the fact that complements satisfy their necessity, as it confirms their beauty. Receiving complements from men is particularly pleasant, as she feels herself a real woman.

Of course the the matter concerns nice, qualitative complements, and not childish jokes.

What is a complement?

A complement is a little exaggeration of the reality, which your interlocutor wants to see inside himself. What makes a complement be different from flattery is the little exaggeration. The flatterer exaggerates his interlocutor's traits. Compare: "This colour fits you great" (complement) and "You're the most beautiful girl" (flattery). The flattery sounds rougher and has bigger chances to be denied. However, there are people who like flatteries as well. But generally, it's rare.

That's why the complement is more significant, and there are no girls who hate complements.

The most effective complement
The most effective complement is a complement on the background of anti-complement towards yourself, since the contrast is felt closer. Don't be afraid of humble yourself.

I like when men make complements by simply noticing details of, let's say, clothes on me. For example they may notice my new belt and emphasize this. It's so sweet. Take example boys

Giving a compliment is an art indeed, and not everybody knows how to make it. First of all don't exaggerate, for example:You look nice today - it is a normal compliment; You are the most beautiful in the world - this is an exaggeration. Try to find the golden mean.

Remember, never beg for a compliment, follow the principle that patience means gold. Girls, should I teach you that? If you have the feeling you really deserve one, then point out your best parts and traits, and the compliment will arrive in no time.

After receving a compliment, smile and say “thank you”, then keep doing exactly the things you were doing before. At the same time, don’t forget about that person, you may start a discussion, by asking how he is getting on or things like that. Just don’t be indifferent.

For a girl is important to stop saying compliments if she believes it’s necessary. I mean sometimes, “throwing” compliments to each other doesn’t look nice at all. Compliments are NOT some ping-pong balls. Stop at the right time.

Important is to feel you really want to make a compliment, feel it inside and then tell it! Use more original words, don’t be conservative by using such descriptions as pretty, beautiful, clever, magnificent.

When telling compliments you should focus on details, for example hands, lips, smile etc. Try to make the compliment as precise as you can. If her lips are plump, obviously they are beatiful, so don't say "Your lips are beatiful" Tell her "Your lips are so plump and beautiful".

Telling a compliment to someone must be done in an efficient way, otherwise it is useless. I mean you can't tell a compliment in a situation when the girl is really sad, when all she needs is peace and silence... this is when compliments are unwelcomed. Wait and expect the necessary moment.
