Well Karl they were not scared to commit mass killing but they are scared by our planes, arent they? Do you thing that all thier military forces and infrostructure is in S Osetia? Our peacekeeping forces were and are under fire, so they defend themselves. No weapon is perfect and parhaps some civilian bildings could be hit. That is tragedy of course and no one denies this.

Do you know that Russia tried to persuede Georgia to sign treaty of non aggression with South Osetia and Abchazia, but they were telling that they will never attack thier own territory!
In the night when Georgia invaded South Osetia Russia called emergency meating of UN security council to stop Georgian Invasion but could not do it becouse Georgia was backed by other states. And it was done while civilians and our Peacekeepers were fighting for thier lives against superior Georgian forces! That is why Army is ther. Now we are called aggressors! The same people who started massive bombardment of civilians are now crying for help! And worst part that they have it. They want condamn us for defending lives of inhabbitans of S Osetia and our peacekeepers! They tell they are asking for peace but continue thier attacks against our forces and knowing this lier Saakashvili i am not surprised!

Well. I am personally disgusted by Putin and by most of what's going on here in Russia. But Western cynicism strikes me even more. Half of Georgian budget consists of loans from the US. The country practically lives on American money. Buys not only food and clothing, but weapons, jets &c. from the US. Is this country free? No. Georgia has made an acquisition. It has bought an ideology. But the comfort of using it is coming to an end.

Like some people here, I am thinking of Nino Burjanidze. She is consulting now with the Bush administration. Saakashvili will probably commit suicide in the nearest future. He is crazy enough to further prevent the ceasefire, and Russians will not stop. Which means that Georgians may loose everything.

Well, first, you'd better think if your disappointment and spluttering means anything at all at the moment to anybody. That's what they call "disproportionate answer", I guess. Obviously, we have different sense of proportions.
Me, I personally don't like Putin. Surely, he's an animal. And surely it'd be better if Russia disappear some day. But, looking at the present state of affairs, if I were you, I would not talk of killing of civilians only by the Russian army. This isn't true. And I would not talk about Russians in general. Anger is a sure sign of the fact that you are scared and weak.

Well, that's a highly questionable statement, given the circumstances. Obviously (at least, I hope so), Russian army is not going to take over Tbilisi. Although Saakashvili himself gave a good handle to this possibility.

Putin is another Hitler and Russia is acting like Germany as Germany took Chekoslovakia with the same pretex (defense of their citizens) i guess 22 million deaths did not gave the Russian a lesson in history.
We should have taken on Russia at the end of WWII as Gen Patton sugested, friend with the germans and turn the guns east, we would not have all the problems of the last 50 years. Europe should send peace keeping forces to Georgia inmediatly, but they do not have the guts to do it, because they will jeopardize gas and oil as the became so dependent on this Russian shipments, we could send peace keepers, but i do think Europe should take on this one, it is time that the europeans take care of themselves.
And if they don't do it then we should, it is the right thing to do.
To all of you Russian writting here there is a hughe population of your people livin in my state Florida, when is Puting going to send the Russian Army, they will be gladly deal with, and not with candy, we do not like wars, but no one will come to my country telling us that is for the defense of their people.

There is no democracy in Georgia. Have you ever think why nearly all his political opponents were killed by someone and investigation gave nothing? USA calls Georgia - a democratic state only because it is rulled by a person who obbey USA in everything. I think that the moment fo starting the war was chosen by USA. USA has the following profits:
1. The war in Ossetia gave some movement up to USD in Forex
2. They have a possibility to test Russia readyness to involve its troops to "Force resolving"
3. They have a possibility to compare ammunition and tactics of NATO (Georgia was equipped on NATO style and was trained for several years by NATO instructors) and Russia in combat
4. The fact that Russia "goes on war" gives additional points to McCain who is known anti-Russian politician and says he will have anti-Russian policy and "teach Russia to behave" if he is elected.
