Demonstrations In Moldova

Re: Demonstrations in Moldova

Hey people, I think you deviated a little bit from the topic. First of all, let's forget about Siberia, since today nobody is deported to live and work there.
Second, I know that Moldovans work in Siberia. But Newrussian, you're showing arrogance, you should be more modest. Siberia is attractive for its high salaries (as against Moldova) due to tough working conditions. It doesn't mean at all that Moldovans work there because they don't like our sunny country. People need to survive somehow and consequently will seek for any job offerining respectable waging.

Dear Andrewz, I don't think it was arrogance, rather a kind of humour. I know that Siberia citizens love that area. Sorry for the "deviation".

I heard that the Chinese love Siberia also. In some years there will be a lot of new Chinatown here. These are only the effects of globalization I suppose...

Some news in regard to the thread: Votes have been recounted, as requested by the president, of course they found no surprise there and it was proved that there were no mistakes in vote counting and communists took indeed 60 mandates in the future Moldovan parliament. The opposition risks not to lose 20 mandates because of double citizenship (as it is stated, Moldovan officials are prohibited from possessing double citizenship)

Today, three opposition leaders were invited into the European Parliament for sharing debates concerning the actions from the past several weeks in Moldova. Europe said "Don't be confused that we "swallow" all the things mentioned by the communist government. We analyze things and make corresponding conclusions."

Topolanek visited Chisinau yesterday. He agreed with the president Voronin to form an international commission for investigating the events of 7 April as well as all the events which followed later.
Also, the amount required for reconstructing the Presidency was assessed to $25 million

You know I saw so many Moldovans works in Siberian towns, and even in my town, in Moscow, really cannot understand how they could left the proud and sunny country with wine yards and many fruit trees and.....aaa....? Really don't know with what else, for such a terrible place  Did you know that every great countries had it's own "Gulag"? Americans- put into "gulag" Indians, Germans-I hope you have heard about it too, France had "gulag" in the Equatorial Africa, Spain-had its own "gulag-master" Franco, Italy-Mussolini, Great Britain- had as a colony 1/4 of the world including India. Portugal, and Russia too ect. So what? It was so long time ago; it is a real paranoia to blame modern Russians for the gulag, as well as modern Germans for the Nazi prisons. Every Empire had it's own victims, and a weak and little countries and nations, were, are, and will be suffering under the strong countries, it is a law that have existed for a millions years.
Modern german still pay money to Jewish people, Sooo yes it is OK to blame modern Russia for Old gulag.
If my grandparents were in gulag I would never forget nor forgive.
Demonstrators in Moldova have attacked the country's parliament in protest at the victory of the governing Communist Party in Sunday's general election.

on July 29 took place repeted parliamentary elections! Most votes were collected again by the Communist Party but they have not passed 50%. If the opposition parties form alliance, then they won the elections. So it will end with communism! And there were no demonstrations in Moldova after repeated elections. is quiet and peace.

I think it's a bit more complicated than ethnicity and political affiliation. I think that what you see in Moldova are the same symptoms of the generational gap one can observe in Iran, China, US etc. In many ways Voronin's supporters are similar to Sarah Palin's. I think that we're at the threshold of major global upheaval similar to the one that swept the world during mid 19th century. There will be lots of Garibaldis all over the world.
Either that or we'll simply have to wait for all the old farts to quietly disappear in the dustbin of history. Both approaches will work. The former one will be more exciting though :)

Has nothing to Voronin but to the party that is member. Old-age people who have lived in sovietic time left with ideas and confidence in the strength of that policy! That's why is what it is. Moldova is influenced by communist period and influence the people who lived during that period. They went through all the changes, and made an opinion that this party is the best, they feel protected and safe!

Voronin has resigned as president of the Republic of Moldova. 8 years of communist regime was officially ended in Kishinev. In a televised speech, Voronin announced that move in opposition, with his entire team and strongly criticized the current coalition government, pro-Western.
Voronin was head of state for two terms... Finally for them :super

It is time for that. Too many years communism was installed in that country. I saw some reports about Voronin and I did not liked him, how he looks, speaks and behalves...too far from how should a president... Good luck for new power and do not forget their promises to people at the pre-election company :super
