How many do you recognize?

This is an awesome assembly. Putin next to Tyson. Mark Twain, Napoleon, Che and Castro... brilliant.
Can someone explain the hooded silhouettes marching towards the pyramids? I have a thought but I'd like to know yours. What kind of story do you make out of the proximity between various characters? To see more detail, place your cursor next to the character you want to maximize and click:
