If you don't know what honey to choose, try the dark one, because it is produced from sugary secretions that insects leave on plants and it is rich in antioxidants.
This sweet substance secreted is called hand or honey dew, a substance that bees collect and make it a hand honey. Having 36 types of analyzed honey, Spanish researchers found that this type of honey has a higher antioxidant content than that collected by bees from the nectar of flowers. All types of honey are beneficial for health, say experts. In addition to the amount of a sweetening agent, honey has proved very effective for the antioxidants and due to antibacterial properties for health. However, consumers should be careful, because honey is full of carbohydrate, containing 80% sugar and, should be added in the diet in moderation.
