In science they asked that if dinos still existed, how would they affect our environment? sources please! Thank you!

if dinosaurs still existed, meaning they hadn't been extincted, then small mammals could not evolve and humans and life as we know it would simply not exist.

Well, they couldn't exist, because they require a very different ecosystem to survive and thrive.

However, if they were somehow walking around, they would thrash the global food-web. The dinosaur herbivores would displace today's herbivores, not just by size and competition, but because they just eat so damn much (assuming that they could happily eat modern plants). I suppose that the predator species would similarly wreak havoc on our prey species.

Still - I have to guess that if they did suddenly appear, everything would eventually reach a new equilibrium, with our dominant mammalian species and new dinosaur species falling into line in a manner that everyone could live with. Sure, some species of each would completely die off, because you'll never have 100% adaptation, but we would end up with a modern animal - Cretaceous animal balance.

Our environment wouldn't exist because our environment evolved without dinosaurs. If dinosaurs never went extinct, the whole course of evolution for the last 65 million years for everything alive today would be radically different.

If dinosaurs went extinct when they did, then suddenly poofed back into existence today, I imagine it would be pretty chaotic. You're talking about merging two ecologies which are separated by 65 million years. Can a dinosaur even survive in today's environment? You should look into what the temperature and atmosphere was like in the time of the dinosaurs and see how that compares today. I tend to think the dinosaurs wouldn't do so well. They evolved for their own environment, not ours.

I think it's important to note that there are a lot of dangerous animals in the wild today that are, at some level, not unlike dinosaurs. There are large and small carnivores, herbivores, etc. So, while there would be an effect on our lives today, it would not be as drastic as the makers of Jurassic Park would like to have us believe. We would not have a T-Rex in Manhattan any more than we currently have lions roaming the streets of D.C.

It is, however, worth noting that the biggest dinosaurs are much bigger than the biggest land animals, and would therefore probably be hurt more by loss of habitat. This would probably fuel conservation movements more than they presently are.

It would be very hard on the herbivores sense there is not enough vegetation for them. Most would starve, after they ate all our forest to the ground. The Connivers would suffer the same fate a little later. Because when they were here most of the planet was a rain forest.
