Will it ever happen? The crisis might bring surprises you knowNathan wrote:This problem is very topical for Poland. It's all about Euro 2012, which were decided to be carried on in Poland. Most Polish construction workers left the country, but now it really needs them as there's a lot of work to do with stadiums, hotels etc.

I am trying to make some sensible plans, and get my boyfriend to agree! I am not so sure. The UK is a wealthy country, but we are so miserable! Everyone is obsessed with buying a house and looking wealthy, and they assume we have the best lifestyle in Europe because they don't know any better (actually, I'm told that most of Scandinavia consider us to be a bit poor and backwardsLaurentine wrote:It would be a shame for British people to work in Eastern European countries. I doubt any sector in Poland is more developed than in UK.
I even saw a report on the TV where families in south London were going without food to buy designer clothes for their children?!?!?! I cannot talk politics or economics with most of my colleagues in the UK, like we do on this forum: a frightening number of young people have no idea about history or current affairs. And we are having real problems with crime...

For someone who has a house and a family, they will get enough benefits for it to be worth staying in the UK. But for other people, it makes sense to look for work elsewhere. tricker wrote:And I thought that happiness means first of all the state of being wealthy. Am I wrong?
