EU Will Make Car Producers Reveal Emissions In Adverts

EU will make car producers reveal emissions in adverts

Postby Benn » 17 May 2008, 11:19

The European Union is preparing to introduce tough new rules on car advertising, forcing producers to include conspicuous and easily understood information about petrol consumption and emissions. Maybe consumers will become in this case more rational
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

consumers don't care about that, they only need comfort

It's about time. We should think about the right of consumers and may be think about some additional protective regulations.

Revealing the emission in advertising has one disadvantage for car producers: the sales will fall
and one advantage for consumer: it will become wiser in the matter of environment

I'm not sure this is an advantage for consumers, 'cause it's better not to know how you kill the environment. This action is totally inefficient and it won't show the expected results.

It will also advantage the producers which produce ecologically-clean cars (I mean more or less ecological). But, why not? Since this is the future, let this industry direct to a new trend

if judgin after this assertion, American cars will fall in sales, and the Japanese ones will increase. Japan is the main coutnry interested indeed in producing ecological cars.

Also an advantage for consumer will be that the prices for cars which pollute more the environment will go down, since producers understand that people won't pay much for buying a non-ecological car.
